Product Description:

Airway hyperresponsiveness (AHR), airway inflammation, and reversible airway obstruction are characteristics of bronchial asthma. Methods and drugs for the prevention and treatment of airway inflammation and AHR can be studied using animal models. The traditional method is to evaluate the changes of airway function in animals by means of tracheal intubation after anesthesia, detecting airway resistance and lung compliance. However, these methods have their limitations, such as the influence of anesthetic drugs in the overall trial, the influence of anesthesia depth and anesthetic drugs on neurogenic and airway inflammation of AHR, the technical requirements and time required for surgical operation of experimenter, and the difficulty in animal survival after anesthesia or surgery and the inability to follow up for a long time.

Whole-body plethysmograph (WBP) can test the lung function and airway response of small animals that are awake and free, avoiding the influence of traumatic tracheotomy and anesthesia, and can directly measure the airway response of animals when they are in a natural state. Furthermore, more than one animal can be tested at a same time. The whole experiment process is simple and fast, and suitable for long-term follow-up research.

Unrestrained Whole-body plethysmograph (WBP) can test for the lung functions and airway responses of small animals in conscious state, avoiding harmful effects caused by traumatic tracheotomy and anesthesia, directly measuring the airway responses of animals in their natural state. More than one animal can be tested synchronously in WBP. The whole experiment process is simple, fast, and suitable for long-term follow-up research.


Treatment study:

Treatment study showed significant lung function improvement after being treated with RDV and LPV/RTV-IFNb.

Compared with the control group, 5 days after RDV treatment and LPV + RTVIFNb low-dose treatment , EF50 and PenH of the animal is decreased, while Rpef returning to the baseline level.


The data showed that the respiratory function of mice after 2-15 days of influenza virus infection was monitored, and PR/8 mice had more severe respiratory function injury than x31 mice
