  SO2 Model

  7 weeks after inhalation of SO2 gas, pathological examination showed mucus obstruction in the tracheal lumen, erosion or necrosis of the tracheal epithelium, increased number of goblet cells, hyperplasia of the smooth muscle in the airway wall, enlarged alveolar lumen, and some alveolar fusion into large vesicles.It is generally believed that inhalation of SO2 can only cause chronic bronchitis in rats rather than COPD, and the reason is related to the concentration and action time of SO2 during modeling, which should be paid more attention to.

  Smoke Model

  Common fumigation box has a nose and mouth exposure system and a whole body exposure system. Different strains of rats were sensitive to cigarette smoke, and the total fumigation time is different, which generally required 3-6 months. The time of fumigation should not be less than 2 times a day, each time should be more than 30 minutes, and the interval of each time should not be less than 4 hours.The CO concentration is about 1000ppm, the O2 concentration is more than 18%, and the CO2 concentration is less than 5%.
